6 advices on optimizing your site during its creation

In most cases SEO-experts are involved in the work on the site somewhile after its creation. It happens when the owner of the site or business finds out with surprise that in order to get clients from the Internet, it’s not enough to create a Web resource.

When the invited SEO-specialist starts to analyze the website, the unpleasant things are often detected. For example, for the successful promotion it is necessary to remake the structure of the site in its entirety. Or to change the language version. Or, that is worst of all – the domain has been under the filter for a long time and now to get any result you need to carry out a series of long-term and costly works.

And most of the errors could be avoided by inviting a specialist in search engine optimization at the stage of creating the site. Thus saving a lot of time and money.

On what is it important to pay attention to SEO-specialists and owners of just creating website – we will tell you in this article.

1. Make a semantic core of the site in advance.

For example, if during the preparation of a semantic core you found out that you want to promote a website or advertise on requests “white moose “, “pink elephants”, “blue elephants” and “blue lizards”, but the programmer made for you just one section “Animals “, then most likely, it is necessary to break it at least for individual sub-types for each one. And inside, might make other subtopics or filter by color for better navigation.

The universal rule states: one semantic group – one section. If you do not know how to divide the site into sections in the best way- be guided by him.

2. Maintain a template for meta tags

Of course, the meta tags for the key pages you will have to register with your hands. But using templates you will greatly facilitate your life and avoid the risk of creating a website without meta tags (or with the same tags throughout the site, what is also not good in terms of SEO).

In this case do not forget that the template meta tags should be hatched only when they are not spelled out manually. In most standard CMS (WordPress, Joomla, etc.) it is already set up for you. Well, in that case, if you use less common systems or create your own resource, you need to foresee this functionality.

3. Select the correct language version of the site

If you are planning to promote the site under the Russian-speaking audience (no matter what country), then the main version of the site should be exactly the Russian language. However, it makes sense to add other language versions only if any part of your target audience speaks exclusively in these languages. Do not overload the site for no reason. In addition, a multilingual website often requires additional and not always easy solutions for optimization.

4. Close from indexing or delete the previous version of the site if it exists

Commonly, site owners do not bother and copy the text to the new site from the old one, which at this time keeps “hanging out” somewhere on the Internet. The following problem arises – the web search engines perceive the new site as a satellite, also with stolen content. And it is a direct path with the red carpet to the ban from the web search engines.

5. Meanwhile the site at the stage of creation, hang a “stub”

Stub – is one-page site with the announcement that your project will start soon. Little life hack – if you add to your stub the subscription form, you will be able to collect the contacts of interested users or even “leads” before the launch of the site.

In addition, the stub will allow you to increase the age of the domain and its authority gradually, what is an important factor in the promotion. On it you can even start the slow purchase of links. However, it is important not to overdo it.

Example of a good stub:

6. Close the test versions of the site from indexing

It is done by adding the file robots.txt to the root domain of the site with the line

Disallow: /

Do not forget that you must do it on a test (!) subdomain.

Otherwise, the test version can be admitted by the web search engines as the primary one, and you run the risk of getting the duplicate content, and just a lot of “junk” pages that definitely will not benefit further promotion of the site.

These simple recommendations, about which you should not forget while you are creating the site, will reliably save for you in the future not one dollar and not one month of waiting for the results.
